I tried to avoid his more serious look and went for a more sporadic cartoon attempt. I tend to enjoy just jumping in and seeing what comes out the most.

Very cool looking painting, wish I could bust something like this out, did a painting some time ago and its kinda good (well its bad but i like it so meh)

Thank you very much! This was actually a very experimental piece, and what I realized is that colour ≠ value. Or well, at least not objectively. So as long as you know your values, you're able to do so much more than you would with the same knowledge of colour.
I hope I'm making sense lol, but yeah!
